Camp America- Getting Placed

Last Saturday was a very exciting day for me as I attended a Camp America Fair and got placed at Grove Point Camp in Maryland! I couldn't be more excited to fly off to America on the 7th of June for three months!

Applying
The application process is online and super easy. You fill out a load of questions, you have to get two references and put their contact details on the application, you fill out information about two skills you have and upload pictures of any certificates you have received  for those skills. Once your application is complete the next step is to organise an interview. At the interview they ask you questions like why do you want to be apart of camp America, they ask you about your skills. You also have to pay an application fee and pay for your police checks. Once you have passed your interview, your application starts circling camps and you are ready to be placed!

Camp America Recruitment Fair
You may get placed soon after your application goes to camps, however there is an opportunity to go to a recruitment fair and meet camps and get placed on the spot! That is what I did and was successful. I am also on a course called IYLA which is for girl scout camps, so I got into the fair early meaning I had more of a chance to get placed! I talked to three camps and got placed on my third! The fair is a bit like the interview but you are talking specifically to the camps, its useful to research the camps that are gunna be there before you go, so you know a bit about them and know which ones you like the look of. Also so you know which dates you can do as all camps have different starting and finishing dates! My camp starts on the 8th of June and ends on the 16th August.

I am so excited to be apart of this amazing opportunity and work as a unit counsellor, looking after children and try new things like caving and Archery. Summer cannot come quick enough!

My Current Favourites

I thought I would share with you what I am loving right now from beauty to films, books and fashion. As its the start of a new year its a good time to try out new things, here is some of my favourites.

Urban Decay Ultimate Basics
This is a palette that I got for Christmas and I LOVE IT. Im usually a gal that loves eyeshadow with a bit of sparkle, but this palette is simply glorious. It has twelve matte colours that are all so wearable and they all look amazing with one another. It also comes with a double ended brush, a brush to apply the colour and a blending brush which is so good for when you are travelling, it also has a huge mirror. This palette is so beautiful and Im going to be creating a lot of different looks with these eyeshadows.

STILLA Stay all day liquid lipsticks
I also got this trio for Christmas and there are three pinky nude colours that are divine. I love the formula of this Lipstick as its not drying like a lot of liquid lipsticks. The colours are so pretty and go with any outfit, they are also great for everyday as they aren't crazy colours. I have worn these a lot and can say that they do last all day which is great if your going out or going on a day trip.(From Top-Perla,Serenata,Patina)

James Arthur
Ive recently discovered my love for James Arthur and his music, Ive always enjoyed his well known songs but after buying his new CD and listening to all the songs I have fallen in love. He has an amazing voice and his songs are all so catchy and I listen to them on repeat. Some of my favourites are "Say you won't let go" "back from the edge" and "let me love the lonely".

Me Before You and me After You
I read Me Before You on holiday and was so gripped to the story, it is one of the best books I have ever read, I felt so attached to each character and engrossed myself into the story and emotion of the book and at the end was left in floods of tears. As soon as I got home from Holiday I went out and bought Me After You and was not disappointed by this book either, and I desperately want there to be another to find out what happens to the characters. I also watched the film version of Me Before You and loved every minute of it! The actors they cast were so fitting and made me love the story even more and like both books I was sobbing by the end of it, I would 100% recommend you read the book and then watch the film as they are incredible.

My two bobble knitted hat
Bobble hats in autumn/ winter are always a fashion staple for me but this one from new look is so adorable. I like the fact that it looks like cat ears, also double bobbles is a very recent trend and I love how different it is to normal bobble hats. Also because it is black it goes with everything, it is also super warm and cosy.

Go ahead Orange Slice Biscuits
I live a very healthy lifestyle, however I love food and therefore finding healthy snacks is essential for me and these are winners. Although these are not necessarily super healthy they are healthier than having Oreos and fill my sweet cravings. They are breakfast biscuits with orange sultanas inside and they are honestly taste like chocolate orange without the chocolate. They are incredible.

Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017

Its the new year and therefore a chance to start afresh. 2016 for me was an amazing year! I made so many amazing memories with my best friend Lindsey and we had so many funny nights out together. I performed my first of many shows with my college acting family, we have had some incredible times together like going to the Harry Potter Studios, for me it was the third time! It was the year I fully got into my fitness and lost a stone and I couldn't be any prouder of myself for that and in 2017 I really want to carry this on but also i want to learn to love my body however it looks. I took part in a hair show and was turned into a mermaid and I saw busted in Birmingham with my best friend Jess! It was also the year I took the plunge and died my hair bleach blonde and I've never looked back.I also got my second tattoo, two flowers on the top of my thigh and I love it, in 2017 I want to have it finished off!

It was also the year I got to go on the holiday of my dreams, to America. We explored Disney and Naples, I went to bath and body works and target and ate at The cheesecake Factory! I applied to uni which was a big and scary moment in my life! I took part in a scare walk where me and my two girls Alisha and Amy dressed as cheerleaders! I went to winter wonderland with my Family and had the most amazing Christmas! It was a year full of amazing opportunities, I'm so excited to see what 2017 has in store for me.
I want 2017 to be full of amazing adventures, laughs and a load of memories. Its big year for me as its the year I move out and go to uni which is a scary prospect but one I am more than ready for.
2017 I'm ready for you

Naples-Florida!

In the second week of our America trip we drove down to naples(it took us about 3 hours), it was such a beautiful place and we did so many amazing things!

Day 1-On the first day we wanted a complete chilled day as we were so tired from the week of Disney! So when we arrived we settled in and then went straight to the pool and spent the rest of the day tanning and swimming and being super relaxed. In the evening we went to a lovely restaurant called South 1200( i think) and i had chicken and dumpling stew and it was amazing. We finished the night by playing cards.

Day 2- The second day we started off by going to IHOP and my god was it good!! I had red velvet pancakes which were delicious. We then decided to go shopping, this is where i spent a lot of money at bath and body works, forever 21, Abercrombie and so many other places. Once we had finished shopping we spent a couple of hours by the pool. In the evening we went to The Cheesecake factory and oh boy i was not disappointed it was incredible, by far my favourite restaurant from the whole trip. I had enchiladas and then a cookie dough cheesecake to finish, wow.

Day 3-The next day we went to go and see alligators, we went down a long road and saw a few in the water at the side of the road, we then went on a boat and saw some more. We finished off by watching a alligator show where the man put his hand and head between the alligators mouth, terrifying. I then got the amazing opportunity to sit on one of the big alligators and hold a baby alligator! For dinner i had a meatball sandwich with sweet potato fries.

Day 4- We decided to have a relaxing day so went and explored naples, there wasn't much in the town but the beach was beautiful. I also knew that i wanted to go and find somewhere to get frozen yoghurt as I am obsessed, there was so many flavours like cake batter and peanut butter and the toppings were incredible like cookie dough, brownie and cheesecake! For dinner I tired gnocchi for the first time and now I am obsessed!

Day 5- On day 5 we travelled to Miami which took us about an hour and a half but was definitely worth it as it was so pretty. We also went on a land and water boat trip and the guide was hilarious and told us so much about Miami and we got to see some amazing celebrities mansions! I also went to a Dash store which was so cool! For dinner we went to Johnny Rockets which was so good and I would definitely go back.

Day 6-On this day we travelled to a little place called Sarasota, I had amazing chocolate chip pancakes with Bacon and a hot chocolate! It had amazing beaches and cute little shops. For dinner we went to an incredible Chinese restaurant and I had sweet and sour chicken!

Day 7-This was our final day and so we didn't want to travel very much! We spent the morning playing mini golf and it was one of the hottest days we had experienced, it was boiling! We then went and did a little bit more shopping, I of course needed to make sure I had spent all my money and I got another frozen yoghurt to end the trip. We then spent the afternoon at the pool tanning and swimming! For dinner I had Gammon and mash and it was so good.

Day 8- This was the day we had to leave and I was devastated, I had the best holiday and never wanted it to end. I will for sure be going back and making more memories!
